How do you mount a wind generator / turbine in a house built pole / tower?

Hello I realize the cost of a tower of a wind generator is expensive. If purchasing a low-watt Wind Generator (400 or 900 rating) that can be assembled on your own pole / tower, how can you make that pole? Can this be done with PVC pipe? Metal tube? Wood? And what do you think about how high should be placed? From 20 feet on a wooden beam, no. The more lower the easier it would be to erect, take down, and less likely to overturn, without a cable guy. But with less wind output = /. What do you suggest you? The cost is $ 1,900 for a 900-watt turbine and $ 540 for a 30-foot tower. I prefer the savings of $ 500 and widdling my own 8 foot pole … but I do not want anyone walking in the damn thing right!

Wow. That's quite a project. I can suggest driving around the country and seek an old steel windmill, as part of some of the biggest farms, once used. I'm thinking it would be about 30-40 meters in height. Then you'll have to find a way to buy, load and transportation to your site. Be sure to set deep in the concrete and bolt down securly. You may have to rent a crane or lift at least one telescopic arm with a long reach. At the top of the steel structure will need to weld additional support to support the heavy turbine. It will also be necessary to mount the deadlock to the top. Of course you have to rotate 360 degrees, so I suggest you purchase some type of pipe to spin around the axis … better if it has ball bearings inside her fat Sertse sealed. You may have to weld some sort of frame of steel "cage" of the turbine to sit inside. Then you too will have to find some kind of tail fin so that you could always point out in the wind. nottt This is definitely a weekend project for the mechanical common "garage". I used to work for a company in Grand Forks, ND makes huge wind turbines with blades 25 feet long fiberglass. These turbines are assembled by a team of engineers using high-tech equipment and large cranes. You may want to "reconsider" the limitations of their abilities techniques and skills and opt for some form of assistance "professional" here. It would be a tragedy to see it assembled incorrectly and damaged or destroyed after only a few days or few hours of use. I have seen well-informed, university people make some simple mistakes in the trial or the planning and hurt veryyyy expensive or damaging some equipment. At least one visit to the turbine generator dealers and others to discuss this issue with them. He may have mounting kits and other pieces of accessories to assist in this project. No information may help others also doing a Google search Turbine Towers??
