How can I make a bar marches to spin faster?

I'm doing a project for my Environmental Biology class about alternative energy. I was assigned the wind turbines. So be the only one with experience with power tools, or the only type for that matter, he turned to me to work in the same model. Theres only one problem. The speed of the rod turning on the generator of the magnet does not rotate quickly enough within the coil copper. Therefore, the need to build a system of gears to make the rotation in order to make the light bulb light up. Any idea how to do this? Thanks in advance.
