Is V p = V ^ 2 / R on the voltmeter or solar cell?
I'm trying to find the power output of a solar cell. I have a few different strengths and want to find which gives the maximum output power (and thus to find the internal resistance). But where do I connect the voltmeter? Through the resistance or the solar cell. I think that must be connected through the solar cell, but I read somewhere that should be connected through the voltmeter? Thank you.
If you want the power away from the solar cell, then you have to put the voltmeter on the solar cell. If you placed the voltmeter elsewhere, then only one could calculate the power dissipated when the meter. The solar cell will produce energy production, either resistance or in resistance and all the cables to it. Want to know what is providing the solar cell, not what the resistance is fading. And by the way, you need to take the reading of the resistance there, too.
