solar power meter
assistance in the lab! the efficiency of solar cells?

for this laboratory, which had to make a solarimeter, a simple meter composed of a solar cell connected to a solar one meter measures electricity. the cell is exposed to sunlight. I used a voltmeter / ammeter a solar cell, a 9V battery to make one. what I data was recorded as the voltage and current. so ask me to "prepare a table and plot of the rough% of maximum stress vs. incident light color of the data obtained. "How can I do this if I only have the voltage, current and power (current x voltage)?, also, if the maximum efficiency of the cell in a science lab is 30%, while a commercial cell (the one used in my lab) might be 4 to 15% efficiency, i is the cell uses comparable to the solar cell in a laboratory? Why not as efficient? "If the efficiency of a solar cell is 5%, What do you think will happen to the rest of the energy? i know I've asked a lot, but any help in this laboratory is highly appreciated.

The only way plotting the color data have been taken to that data. (Voltage and current practice should be sufficient) Your test is to have a considerable error because there is no way to gauge the intensity of light. The point of the exercise is to demonstrate that solar cells can only capture a certain wavelength of light. I think most power is in the length green wave (just a hunch). So to make your lab just a bright light though some translucent colored objects and take readings. A color will be substantially higher than the others. Record your data and chart in Excel. Voltage increase as wavelength decreases the current, while it cut with decreasing wavelength. This gives maximum power output at an intermediate point (probably green 510nm). Commercial panels are about 12-15% efficiency. The rest goes into heat. I doubt that your panel is 30% efficient unless you have a major grant from NASA:) But like all engineering laboratories, if they are within 100% of your doing pretty darn good:) Best of luck
