How can I feed a WiFi repeater 5volt a car 12volt Solar Panel?
I extend my WiFi so you can sit in my pool and surf the net while fishing, but around a corner and beneath a hill. So I was thinking about having a repeater connected to two Cantenna. I have a car of 12 volt solar panel, which has an LED that sends pulses of electricity when the car cigarette lighter. Can be found in the port of Frei and HT. I also have some 12 volt batteries that will support UPS. Any idea how I would connect the repeater to the batteries, and convert the 12 volts to the required 5? The repeater amplifier is needed. I can solder and have a very basic knowledge of electronics. I'd love a kit or something. I would put the repeater and batteries a kind of container to protect from rain. Anyway, thanks ahead. I have some old PC power supplies, I wonder if I can pull what I need from them since then, have 3, 5 and 12 volts DC OUT. hmm .. Thanks UPDATE: I found a decent instructable showing you how.
