How viable are the solar panels in space?
I've been thinking that if you create a chain or group of solar panels would get large amounts of power generation for our country. So I wonder how well the solar panels in the workspace, are better than they are in the land or worse? (A life of how long it could last into space before losing its functionality would be great too.)
They work very well. Energy total radiant (the Sun) is about 1200 watts per square meter and most have some sort of satellite solar panels to generate electricity they need. And the theoretical duration of the order of hundreds of years. The problem is getting all that power down to Earth. Doug
