How to connect 2 power supplies together? (solar panels)?
I'm Geting in Electonics and stuff. So I'm trying to do simple USB charger. I am looking for at least 4 volts output. What I have is two solar panels (independent) to 4 AA battery holder and a circuit board with an LED in it (the solar panels are the lights of old grass. I need more care of my panels (I think) so I tried them together. Solder the positive lead connecting one to the other positive and negative cable to the negative connection. After doing so and meter control is said to have no outlet at all. How connect?
Each individual solar cell takes 5 volts. You must pay for them in series (+ a – a + a – a +). For 4 volts are needed so least 8, 10 would be better because it went off 5 volts max. with direct sunlight. The upper (shiny side) is the negative side, the back is the positive side. Before connecting together, check each one for himself to make sure its good.
