How can I build my own solar panel for electricity?
I need to know where I can buy or find parts as scrap to make my own solar panels. Is there an inexpensive way to buy the panels or can I do myself.
Unless you have a silicon fab in your basement to make silicon wafers, they are not making your own solar panels and no it's nothing about this idea at all to be "cheap". Your idea can all be Nobel on one level, but also noted how knowledgeable about the subject you are. As an example of what I mean, buying solar panels is not really a problem, but apparently is only part of the problem can get their head around, so this is where questions begin. Let me throw a few things for you to consider. First, the Solar panels tend to be expensive. The absolute cheapest I have heard expressed in the dollar per watt range and number when purchased in small quantities, is likely it is up to about $ 10 per watt. I have no idea what he wants power, but only lets say you want to run a TV using solar power. A TV can use easily 200 watts or more power, so in the small amounts we are talking about, which could cost $ 1000 to $ 2000! If you really have visions feeding more than this, just add more $ $ $. Now, do you realize that the solar panel puts DC unregulated and run most things, will CA to be regulated so now you need a certain type of investor. Add a little more $ $ $. I guess I'll follow you really want to connect to the power in your home somehow. No utility in the country will allow you to connect the device to its power unless it meets their standards and the work is done by a licensed electrician. More $ $ $. The fact is that the only way any of this is economically viable for anyone is because of the incentives that different levels government and utilities are currently offering. However, the attempt to do so in the "cheap" because it also is convicted of failure to qualify for any of incetivives that are out there. Here in AZ there is an installer that does this job and do it properly so that you qualify for various incentives. Pay special attention to costs.
