How long does it take to charge a 212 amp hour battery, 12 volt deep cycle with a 60-watt solar panel?
I'm trying to develop a DIY link system network and only know the basics about electrical work. worries guys I'm not a master plumber and a friend who is a master electrician to do all the wiring. He was not there for me to ask initially. Thanks for the answers!
A typical panel is 60W 4A short circuit current specification in the first link below. This is most likely on sun 3.5A peak current load. Depending on where you live, you may have 2 to 5 hours of peak sun charging current day. You should be able to find this figure in the internet for your area. It is the equivalent number of hours in full sun (which The panel will provide 3.5A). It will take all hours of the day to achieve this equivalent. Let's say you have 3 hours equivalent, so you'll get 3.5A x 3h = 10.5Ah by average day. The battery is 212Ah, so it takes (1.4 x 212 = 300Ah) for uploading. How many days is it? Divide by 300Ah per day for 10.5Ah 29 days. This assumes no loss of battery power during that time. Basically, the battery (depending on type) could lose almost that charge much more than a month of self-discharge, so that this group would only keep a battery of this size, more or less fully charged, if there is no charge. With MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller of this could be improved, as the charge is derived from the maximum, not the current maximum, and might provide more the maximum current from the panel (using the internal electronics). If you want a tie, the network system that requires a higher voltage to operate the network tie inverter. You do not need batteries, which is one reason for using this system. These investors typically require 150-500V panel. This is for reasons of efficiency and cost. Search "Sunny Boy" (a popular German model in the U.S. and Australia and Europe at least) to get an idea. This inverter is adjusted automatically load to use the input voltage to get maximum power from the panels (MPPT tracking). You need 10 x 12V panels in series to achieve this tension. This means you can deliver near 600W for the investor. Generally smaller systems as power 1KW objective of the panels, using large panels or modules, 24V, etc. The design begins with the total power of the panels, since this is the issue of high cost. A 1 kW system can not export much power at all. I recommend that research is much more away, or get some kind of consulting with someone familiar with the region before moving forward. There are plenty of references on the web. The wiring is in stress tensions similar to the homes so you should get a qualified electrician to do the job. I know it sounds disappointing, but the power of a small solar panel compared to domestic use, especially as the power only occurs a few hours a day. For example, backup power for their appliances only overcome the number of panel 60W, so it makes economic and environmental sense to eliminate it by turning off things in the wall socket. This group could perhaps be one thing as small as a network router based on a 24 x 7 hours. Depending on where you live, solar hot water can make more sense than an electric system, accounting more energy savings due to improved efficiency, and also more practical for a DIY project. You can get concessions from the government, renewable Certificates Energy (CER), etc. to offset the cost of some systems in some regions. Hope this helps.
