Is it possible to build a small power plant?
I've been wanting to get my house off the network. My property is only 3 / 4 an acre so you can not go too high for wind. Solar is too expensive for me now. What about a coal stove in my backyard configure a system type of water tank with stunning alternators steam in the pipes? If possible, does anyone know of a cookbook "for this type of design? See I was thinking about a much smaller scale. using a 100,000 BTU coal stove, the size usually used to heat your home with a 75 gallon water tank the top of the same tube extends upward inside impellars revolve alternators. Over 10 years I am looking to pay the electric company over $ 50,000.
I hate to discourage, but small-scale plants are difficult to do efficiently. If you have to buy coal, which will cost too. I've never seen the designs for small plants like this, but it's an interesting idea. Say you use a good wood stove that burns clean … Or a way Intelligent use of low-grade heat such as solar heaters … Of all the people are interested, I think there's a market here, at least for energy in hours peak, for well designed (ie cost effective) electric power generation. I suggest that the audit of your home to see how you are using the power. What is home insulation. Electronic timers to reduce power. Shade trees reduce heating bills. Consider the possibility of closing and shuttering windows on the north, perhaps an atrium on the south side to help warm in winter. Maybe solar water heaters on the roof can be built itself, separate from the ceiling by the air space for natural convection to cool the roof in summer. The attic ventilation to help cool the house. Conservation and modest conservation measures of common sense are the best way to save money. Compete with the energy company will be difficult to address.
