Cool places to go in Asia?

Me and my two best friends will travel to Asia later this year, starting in Singapore then travel through Thailand and Vietnam, and perhaps through China or India (near the coast) .. anyway I was wondering if anyone knew of any reality to do in and around that area, we so roughing not afraid to go a little "out of network" so to speak .. any advice or comments wounld be great. Oh, do not forget to go to Orchard Road if you want to do some shopping, and India soon if you want to see Indian culture in Singapore.
