What are some differences and similarities in solar and nuclear energy?
Can you tell me some differences between energy solar and nuclear energy? One could also say some similarities? nothing would great.Thanks!
Solar energy has a capacity factor relatively low, the earth is not sunny all the time. Nuclear fission power plants have a high capacity factor. Both power plants are expensive to build and expected return on investment over the life of the power plant. Both produce energy according to E = MC squared, the sun is the fusion power while nuclear power plants fueled fission. The fission of uranium plants, which require the fuel has to be extracted or refined, solar panels require chemicals and metals that must be extracted or refined.
